ADL for Direct Broadcast

Dear Colleagues,

The final beta release of the CSPP VIIRS and ATMS SDR software is now available for download at the CSPP website:

http://cimss.ssec.wisc.edu/cspp/

Note that you will need to register before downloading the software and documentation.

What's new in this release?

- The VIIRS SDR software will now attempt to process all available granules in a direct broadcast pass, instead of automatically skipping the first and last granules. This will improve the yield of granules processed, however some granules will contain missing data.
- A problem in the VIIRS SDR processing script that caused the processing to exit during post-processing has been fixed.
- A new script for comparing VIIRS test output to reference output is included.
- A new script for creating quick-look images from VIIRS M-band SDR files is included.
- The ATMS SDR software has been updated with improved calibration lookup tables and tested on direct broadcast data.
- Instructions for installing and patching RT-STPS v5.1a are now include in the documentation.

This is the last beta release of the CSPP VIIRS and ATMS SDR software before we release it to the worldwide DB community. We appreciate all your help with testing the software, and if you can take a few minutes to respond to this email with the following information, it would help us a great deal:

1. Did you test the VIIRS package?

2. Did you test the ATMS SDR package?

3. What Linux O/S and hardware did you use for testing?

4. Did you experience any problems during installation and execution?

5. Were you able to verify your installation using the supplied test data?

6. Was the supplied documentation clear and straightforward?

7. Would you change anything in the release?
