EDR 2.0 processing

Post by knuth »

Hi

When using the edr processing, an error occurs for the 'nagg. utility:

viirs_edr.sh -p $cores -a -i $input --alg='ALL'

.......................
nagg: ***ERROR*** parse_options(): illegal product ID given:
AVAFO
usage:
nagg [OPTIONS] <input_file>...
OPTIONS
-h, --help
Print command syntax; also list valid types and packaging groupings.
--version
.........................

Wonder why does this occur for the AVAFO, but not for the other products.

Aggregation of the AVAFO active fire product is not supported by the nagg aggregation tool. If you have the latest version of the CSPP VIIRS EDR package, you should get a warning message like "nagg does not support aggregation of AVAFO files".

And just as a follow up, the Active Fires product is not a set of arrays. Instead, it consists of a list of lat/lon values and quality flags of potential fire locations. That is why the aggregation tool does not work with it.
