Dear Colleagues,
The CSPP Geo team is pleased to announce the release of the Version 1.0 GRB software package. This software is capable of processing the GOES Rebroadcast (GRB) data stream as received from the GOES-R series of satellites, and generating products from all instruments in real-time.
Development of this software was funded by the NOAA STAR GOES-R Program.
This release adds:
- Provisional support for GOES-17 processing
- Provisional support for ABI Mode 6
- Various performance and stability improvements, as well as minor bug fixes
- Enhanced configurability
- Improved quicklook images
- Support for UDP multicast
- Logging improvements

The user documentation has been updated and significantly expanded. Note that the content that was formerly in the ICD and Installation Guide has been merged into a single document called the CSPP Geo GRB Software Users' Guide.
This release includes changes to the user interface, affecting the installation procedure, environment setup and output locations. The documentation includes a section on migrating from the v0.4 series to v1.0.
The software and documentation can be downloaded from the CSPP Geo website (free registration and login required). Refer to the Software Users' Guide for instructions on installing, configuring and running the software.
