This message is to announce the release of the NASA International MODIS/AIRS Processing Package (IMAPP) software to create MODIS Level 2 products from input Aqua and Terra data in support of direct broadcast.
This IMAPP MODIS Level 2 V3.1 software includes these updates:
- - MODIS Collect 6 Cloud Optical Properties Software (MOD06OD) - including Cloud Optical Thickness and Cloud Effective Radius. These products are found as part of the MOD06 cloud product HDF4 file.
- Updated Terra Infrared Band destriping coefficient file. This improves the quality of products that use the infrared bands.

Release Notes:
- - The software is supported on 64-bit Linux CentOS6 or compatible systems.
- With the addition of the static ancillary files required to create the MOD06OD products, the total disk space required for installation and execution of the software is about 90 GB.
- The MOD06OD software was provided by the algorithm developer of the NASA software, and wrapped for execution as part of the IMAPP suite. It produces output that is now identical in format, including metadata, with the products produced at the NASA archive. The previous IMAPP MODIS Level 2 software release, Version 3.0, included the other Collect 6 NASA MODIS atmosphere baselined code that was wrapped to produce atmosphere products identical in structure (including metadata) to those created at NASA. This release completes the atmosphere suite of Collect 6 IMAPP MODIS Level 2 products.
