Issued July 20th, 2024 10:16 UTC: Starting on July 20 at ~06:18 UTC, the geolocation of the NOAA-21 spacecraft entered a degraded state causing the data to be inaccurate and out of mission specifications. Engineering has started spacecraft recovery activities.
Direct Broadcast (DB) users should be aware that NOAA-21 science data is not ready for operational use.
Update #1: Issued July 20th, 2024 20:02UTC: Operations was able to recover the NOAA-21 spacecraft to a valid Geolocation state on July 20, 2024. Cal/Val teams have confirmed that NOAA-21 Science products are meeting mission specifications and ready for operational use.
