h5 file generated with Geo file packed in

Post by ljiang »

I ran OCC controller and got a h5 file with GMTCO-VOCCO prefix, which was a h5 packed with VIIRS-OCC-EDR and VIIRS-MOD-GEO-TC. I wonder which file to setup if I don't want to include geo in my h5 file. Thanks!

Combining the geolocation with other products is called "packaging". You can disable packaging by editing $ADL_HOME/cfg/ADL_CFG.xml. Locate "ENABLE_HDF_PACKAGING" and change it to false.

Setting it to false should create HDF files the same way ADL 3.1 did. With packaging enabled in ADL 4.0, things are closer to how the operational system works.

Thanks for your reply, Kevin. Since CLASS provide EDRs (e.g. OCC-EDR) without packaging, does that mean they receive packaged data from IDPS and then unpackage them?

According to people here, "CLASS receives packaged data and they run their own tools to unpackage them into individual products".

So yes, CLASS unpackages it.
