Sorry for another silly question:
What is the best 'direct' way to transfer files between VA and Host system?
Thank!
Data Transfer between VA and Host
Re: Data Transfer between VA and Host
Try setting up a "shared folder", as described here: http://www.vmware.com/support/ws5/doc/w ... lders.html
I haven't used the virtual machine much, so if you need more info I might have to defer to the University of Wisconsin.

Re: Data Transfer between VA and Host
Thank you, Kevin,
I am using VM Fusion with Mac system.
I tried to turn o0 the share folders from both my VA and host, but I couldn't find the shared folders anywhere afterwards.
I tried ssh as well, and it didn't work either.

Re: Data Transfer between VA and Host
Typically shared folders will magically show up on a /mnt/hgfs/Sharename mountpoint when the VMWare tools are installed and operating properly. In VMWare Fusion, you may need to go through the installation in order to bring the tools up-to-date. Check "df" or "mount" in the VM to confirm that there's an entry from ".host:/" to /mnt/hgfs via filesystem vmhgfs.
I use them fairly regularly for windows/linux build VMs so let me know if it gives you trouble.
