How can I remove lunar radiance from VIIRS DNB files?
I have already converted hdf5/SDR files to geotiffs using satpy.

I have found Cao's method [1] which is based on Spectral Lunar Ιrradiance model (MT2009) [2].
I tried that but I end up with an overcorrection...
Did anyone try that formula?

We talked a little on the pytroll slack. What you are trying to do (correcting DNB for lunar radiance) is not something our team is actively trying to accomplish. Additionally, I am just a programmer and don't do research with the data we create software for. I would suggest contacting the people whose papers you linked to to discuss possible solutions. If there is something CSPP LEO or Polar2Grid or SatPy can do to make this research easier, let me know.

Recently, I also try to process viirs DNB data. The problem "how to remove lunar radiance" stuck with me long time too. Do you have dealt with it? In addition, I also find that the satpy package in python can be used to process DNB data. But, I did not get some examples about processing this data in satpy, would you give me some help?
