NOAA Announcement: The ATMS instrument experienced an anomaly and is now in safe mode. The Spacecraft Engineers have been contacted. There will be no data from ATMS on SNPP until further notice.

Update #1 Issued 29 August, 2022, 19:04 UTC: JPSS engineers are troubleshooting and recovery efforts are now underway. Science data activation is expected no earlier than Wednesday, August 31, 2022. All missed data will not be recoverable.

Update #2 - Issued 22:32UTC, August 31: JPSS engineering has finished all recovery efforts to return the S-NPP ATMS instrument into a nominal state with science data starting with the observation time of August 31, 2022 at 18:21 UTC. Cal/Val teams will conduct a brief assessment to ensure all components of the data are meeting operational requirements by Thursday September 1, 2022.

Update #3 - Issued 18:45 UTC, 31 September: The S-NPP ATMS SDR, TDR, and Microwave Integrated Retrieval System (MiRS) EDRs are approved for operations. This is the final update.
